She is a former Group Lead Volunteer for her village group in Avon. Her route to Scouting runs through youth work: she delivered the Duke of Edinburgh\u0027s Award with groups across Hampshire, Bristol, and Kent, and spent six years as a part-time youth and community support worker for her local council. It left her convinced that youth organisations change young people\u0027s wellbeing, life chances, and communities for the long term. As a Chartered Scientist and Environmentalist, she is passionate about Scouts empowering young people to be voices for change on climate and sustainability. She brings deep experience in governance, strategy, and organisational change.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EKate is a Director at Public Digital, where she helps executive teams and boards build the conditions for successful change. She spent 22 years at the Environment Agency, in Deputy Director and Director roles across flood risk, digital and data services, service transformation, and emergency management, including advising the highest levels of government and acting as a media spokesperson during national incidents. She is also a Leadership Fellow of St George\u0027s House, Windsor, and was awarded an OBE in 2024.
