Don\u2019t set it so high that you\u2019ll have no chance of making it, but not too low either.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDo things differently.\u003C/strong\u003E People love to hear about fundraisers doing things their own way. You might try and cover your mile by walking on stilts or even dressed as a chicken. Or perhaps both at once? Anything that will get you noticed, get people talking and help you reach your target.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAsk someone (nicely) for a donation to get you off the mark.\u003C/strong\u003E You\u2019re more likely to hit your target if people can see that others have already donated.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPost updates. \u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/strong\u003EPeople will want to know how you\u2019re getting on. If you\u2019re comfortable to, please speak to your parent/carer about sharing a picture of you racing away (to get their permission). Please don\u2019t use pictures of anyone else as they may not want it sharing in this way \u2013 if they do, please ask your parent/carer to speak to theirs to get permission. Your supporters will love it, and might share it themselves.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAsk friends and family to share your page.\u003C/strong\u003E As well as asking friends and family to sponsor you, why not ask them to go the extra mile and share your page on their social media channels? It\u2019ll help your story go far and wide.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EEncourage others to join the race.\u003C/strong\u003E If your dad, auntie or brother used to be a Scout (or even if they didn\u2019t) why not ask them to join the race, too? They can set up their own page and start racing today.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhy not share your story with your local media?\u003C/strong\u003E People always want to hear good news stories \u2013 especially in these challenging times. Surely a story about a chicken on stilts racing round the world is going to cheer people up?\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EKeep going and remember to say thank you.\u003C/strong\u003E People will respond to your energy and enthusiasm, so keep up the energy.
