If a property is brought or sold it must be registered with the HM Land Registry. Leases with a term exceeding 7 years also require registration. Approximately 14% of property in the UK remains unregistered because nothing has yet triggered compulsory registration.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ERegistration is the best way to record your title and protect against third party interests. It can be important when applying for grants as funders may require a Scout Unit to have registered property so they can register an interest on the freehold or leasehold title.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIf your Scout Unit\u2019s land has not been registered, then we strongly suggest you investigate registering the land regardless of whether it is held by the SATC.
