These include trusteeships and opportunities to work directly with young people in our leadership teams.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EScouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures and learn new skills - \u00A0all of which is supported by our amazing 150,000 volunteers. Surprised at that number? Well, something else that might surprise you, is that 80,000 of these volunteers are charity trustees.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EBeing a trustee is great for professional development, particularly for employees looking for experience in strategic planning, finance, risk management and general board level experience. \u00A0We need people who can see things from different viewpoints, who are passionate about supporting their community, and want to give young people skills for life. We also encourage every volunteer to bring their own skills, knowledge and experience to the role.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EEncouraging staff to volunteer can have big benefits for you, too. The impacts are wide ranging, and include:\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cul\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003ESupporting the businesses Corporate Social Responsibilities\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EHelping to build or maintain a values-based reputation\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EAttracting and retaining staff\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003EReaping the benefits of your employee\u2019s skills, knowledge and unique experience gained from being a trustee, which might not be possible through the workplace.\u003C/li\u003E\n\u003C/ul\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ENo previous experience at Scouts or as a trustee is necessary, and whilst the time commitment can vary depending on the type of trustee role, it\u2019s usual for trustees to meet 5-7 times per year and a few hours per month.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIt\u2019d be great to discuss promoting our opportunities to your employees and if possible, arrange for me to talk to anyone interested in volunteering.
