During the accreditation process, everyone becoming an Activity Assessor should be made aware, and agree, that they will remain active and up to date with their skills and knowledge and undertake at least two days (14 hours) of technical update workshops in each 5-year period.\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EExamples of ongoing learning include:\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAttending and updating a 16-hour first-aid certificate\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAttending a meeting or event run by an appropriate National Governing Body e.g. British Canoeing, or British Cycling\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAttending a local or national assessors learning session or workshop\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOther relevant learning or assessment linked to the activity that an individual assesses by prior agreement by the MAPS.\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition, an Activity Assessor has a responsibility to stay up to date on any updates that are made to rules, factsheets and guidance to do with their activity. This is to make sure that any potential permit holders will receive a similar experience no matter which Activity Assessor they approach, or which permit assessment course they attend.\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAny time undertaking ongoing learning needs to be recorded on the membership system as part of an assessor\u0027s learning record.\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EActivity assessors must keep a record of all ongoing learning and CPD and may be asked to provide this as needed by the MAPS.\u00A0\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Assessor accreditation must be reviewed on a regular basis, usually every 5 years, as with all other Scouting roles and accreditations.\u202F An assessor who has not completed the ongoing learning requirements cannot continue in their role.
