It becomes a symbol of identity, neckers will be worn with pride and badges will be swapped with other Scouts from around the world. We wanted to create a design that felt distinctive, making us stand out as a Contingent.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Ch3\u003EThe Story Behind the Design\u003C/h3\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ESo let us introduce you our otter, named Oddie!\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOddie\u2019s name comes from the Polish word \u201Codwaga\u201D, meaning courage, which connects perfectly with the spirit of the Jamboree in Poland and the event\u2019s theme of bravery.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOtters symbolise joy, playfulness, curiosity, friendship and community \u2013 all themes native to both the UK and Poland.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIn the design, Oddie is shown wearing a Scout necker and holding the Poland Jamboree logo between its paws, like a treasured pebble, a small detail that represents the value and excitement of the experience ahead.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Ch3\u003EDesigning within the Jamboree Guidelines\u003C/h3\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe badge was created using the design template and guidelines provided by the World Scout Jamboree organisers. These ensure that each contingent badge fits within the overall visual identity of the 2027 event while still allowing countries to express their own character.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Ch3\u003EDesigned with Young People\u003C/h3\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EYoung people were involved throughout the process, helping shape ideas and providing feedback on the final design.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EWe also consulted with a range of groups, including religious networks within Scouts, to ensure the design is inclusive and representative of the diverse community that makes up the UK Contingent.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis collaborative approach helped us ensure that the final badge reflected not just a design, but the voices and ideas of the young people who will proudly wear it.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Ch3\u003EA Badge to Be Proud Of\u003C/h3\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAs the journey to the 2027 World Scout Jamboree continues, Oddie will become a symbol of the adventure ahead, representing the UK Contingent, the fur-endships to come and the shared spirit of Scouts across the world.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EWe can\u2019t wait to see it worn by our contingent throughout our journey.
